Dr. Hurliman

Board-Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist

“Providing personalized care means focusing in on each patient’s individual story. Genetic testing is an evolving area of our industry that allows us to look even deeper into a person’s ability to conceive. We’ve seen many patients find success when using genetic testing during their IVF cycle.”

Meet Dr. Hurliman

Amanda K. Hurliman, MD, is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. She has practiced at ORM Fertility since 2013.

As a medical student, she originally saw herself going in a different direction. But after she got pregnant with her twin boys, she had an “aha” moment and knew she wanted to focus on children in some way. At the time, she had multiple family members struggling with fertility issues and at that point she knew reproductive medicine was her calling.

“Whenever you have an experience that changes your own life, you have more empathy and understanding for what people are going through. I understand the desire to be a parent and love helping people at that very poignant moment in their life. It’s very exciting that I can potentially make change and impact for good through the work that I do.”

As a fellow, Dr. Hurliman received the prestigious ASRM/SREI National Research Service Institutional Training Award for her research focusing on cardiovascular health and polycystic ovary syndrome.  Additionally, she was involved in clinical research conducted by the Reproductive Medicine Network addressing treatment options for couples with unexplained infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome.

“As we become more skilled in how we can evaluate patients, we can open new doors through research, to help better identify other issues that might have an effect on fertility.”

At ORM, Dr. Hurliman specializes in advanced hysteroscopic surgery. She’s also a strong advocate for proactive egg freezing, saying: “It’s wonderful that we’re able to offer this as an option. I’m looking forward to educating the community and increasing awareness of egg freezing as an option.”
